Govt servant arrested by MACC for alleged office equipment abuse
KOTA BARU: A government servant was arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly abusing his position in relation to an office equipment supply worth more than RM8,000.
Sources said the man, in his 50s, was arrested today when he was summoned to the Kelantan MACC headquarters to have his statement recorded.
Sources said the man was alleged to have abused his position by using his wife's company for the project.
"The individual was alleged to have used the company to make purchases for the office in 2021 and the previous year."
Kelantan MACC director Rosli Husain, when contacted, confirmed the arrest.
He added that the case was being investigated under Section 23(1) of the MACC Act 2019.
